Meth Use Still Plaguing Gay Community They say that knowing its half the battle, and in the battle against meth the best way to prevent usage is for one to know exactly what they’re dealing with.  Meth, Chrystal, Tina, Ice, Chrystal Meth, or Methamphetamine has been a major problem in gay and bisexual male communities for years.
Georgia Equality and HRC plan protest against Target, Best Buy As you may already be aware Target and Best Buy recently gave a large donation to a Minnesota political group that used the funds to endorse an anti-equality candidate.
DADT: Letters to be released The Don’t ask, Don’t tell policy is coming to an end.  Throughout the week of 30-Aug-2010, former service men/women and their families will release a letter once a day on how this policy has affected these individuals.
Rev. Jane Spahr Found Guilty for Marrying Gays After a three day trial, Presbyterian minister Rev Jane Spahr, was found guilty by the Presbyterian Church for marrying gays in San Francisco-before Proposition 8 banned these unions and before 2008, which makes them legal marriages.

In Omaha, a man was arrested for spraying tear gas into a crowd of protesters outside of a funeral for a Marine killed in Afghanistan.Those protesting were from the infamous Westboro Baptist Church, led by Fred Phelps of Topeka, Kansas. The church teaches that the deaths of American military personnel are God’s punishment for U.S. tolerance of homosexuality.

Ex-Police Officer Found Guilty of Transgender Beating

Bridges McRae, a former Memphis, Tenn. Police officer faces only two-years in jail for brutally assaulting the late Duanna Johnson, a transgender woman. McRae was set to go through a retrial in September for the excessive force charges against him.

Gay rights organizations continue to boycott Target after refusing HRC’s proposition

Following the Human Rights Campaign’s talk with Target Corp., the gay rights organization announced on Monday that the protest against the corporation will continue after its $150,000 donationto Minnesota Republican gubernatorial candidate, Tom Emmer, who opposes same-sex marriages in addition to other legislative issues proposed by gay rights groups.

For The Kid presents Backpacks to Lake Forest Elementary: Photos

Lake Forest Elementary received Jorge Esteban and the crew from “For The Kid” and the 378 backpacks they toted in as well. For the Kid in All of Us is a LGBT community charitable organization set up to address this need. They began in 2003 with the Toy Party, a charity party organized to gather gifts for under-privileged children during the Holidays. Five years ago they expanded to also organize Back Pack in the Park, a mid summer out door party, held just recently, to gather school supplies. This, each year helps to send children back to school with the basic necessities they are expected to have.  Full Story
